Just like in a forest, humans thrive in community.

In a forest, the understory is the quiet, living layer beneath the canopy. It’s where young trees grow in the shade of older ones. It is where saplings take root and new growth begins. Where nutrients are exchanged. Where life is interconnected in ways we don’t always see. It’s not as visible as the tall trees or the sunlit canopy above but it’s an essential and quiet lifeline.

Let’s begin the conversation.

We call this community The Understory because that is how we imagine it—a space where we are valued as we are, where we discover our roots, and – in the sharing of resources, presence, and support – we grow in community into our full selves.
